TKM Final Assessment
Next Friday you are going to write an in class, complete, RACES-styled open response to the following question:
The director of the film, To Kill a Mockingbird, has made some significant changes to the plotline of Harper Lee’s book. These changes affect certain broad themes that Lee clearly wanted to discuss. You will pick one theme that you feel has been either altered, or lost completely. First explain the theme from the book. You should include quotes from the book in your explanation. Then say how it was eliminated and why you think the director may have made that decision.
HW for this weekend:
To begin with you are going to make a few general predictions before even seeing the film. Look through your chapter notes and write down a few scenes that you think will be cut, and then briefly say why. We will discuss these quickly on Monday before starting the movie.
