We are going to revisit the 8 Steps of Literary Analysis. Specifically, I want you guys to spend some time thinking about what the problems are that Harper Lee is trying to solve and what her basic arguments are. Here are some suggestions:
1. The appropriate role of women in society
2. The problem of racism
3. What real courage looks like
...there are more.
Now, what does she have to say about each problem. How does she define them? What examples does she use? Does she have an opinion on the answer? How does she point us in a particular direction?
