8 Steps of Analytical Reading

1.Classify work according to kind & subject matter.

2.Briefly state what entire work is about.

3.Define parts in order & relation & outline them.

4.Define problem author is trying to solve.

5.Comes to terms with author b`y understanding key words.

6.Grasp leading propositions by understanding key   sentences.

7.Know author's arguments.

8.Determine which problems he has solved or not.

Look at Part One of TKAMB as a complete work and evaluate it using the above criteria. We will do this exercise again at the end of Part Two to see if there are any changes, especially in #’s 4, 7 & 8
